Eagles are the most famous of all raptors due to their prominence as symbols throughout the Americas. They are some of the largest birds one could see, as they tend to have massive wingspans, allowing them to reach speeds up to 322 km/h. They eat some of the largest prey, with the largest being some livestock at 227 kilograms. Both of these feats were accomplished by the golden eagle, which has a wingspan of 2.3 meters and a weight of 7 kilograms. Some of the most famous are the bald eagle, the harpy eagle, and the wedge-tailed eagle.
